*****************************************************************************
* FATAL MISSION V1.1, SINGLE FILE VERSION. RELEASED 24/01/94. (C) R Burrows *
*****************************************************************************
I have received a number of requests from people wanting the AmigaDOS
'friendly' version of Fatal Mission. Well here it is.
Q. Why?
A. The main reason is because the original has an aversion to my new
A1200. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't. And anyway, the long
loading times between games (about 12 seconds) is annoying.
Another reason is because of the event of more standard CHIP memory,
a 512K CHIP Amiga can't load Fatal Mission 1.1 because bloody AmigaDOS
hogs all the memory. Fatal Mission needs about 510K of ram!
Apologies to owners with 512K CHIP ?K FAST Amigas, you cannot load
this version (probably); use the original version.
This version should now work on all 1MB CHIP Amigas, including CDTV/CD32.
THERE ARE SOME PAUSES WHILE DATA DE-COMPACTS, THIS IS NORMAL.
This version is hard drive/CD installable.
Fatal Mission1.1 is FREE, it may be freely distributed as long a no more than
£2.00 is charged for floppy disk and duplication, and the disk is filled to
over 90%. This ReadMe must accompany the game, and neither file must be
altered. Please don't compact the game as all the files are stored compressed
anyway!
Instructions.
Run the file however you like. To quit press RMButton on intro screen,
RMButton also aborts current game whilst playing. Use two joysticks for
simultaneous 2 player. Hold down the fire button during play (autofire).
A collosal bonus is awarded if you complete the game without losing a life.
Scores are not saved because I don't want to muck up your hard drive!
Have fun, the coding is crap, but the game is free, enjoy it.
Disclaimer.
I am not responsible for any damage or data loss caused directly or
indirectly by this program. So there. I recommend resetting after playing
the game so as to make sure the system hasn't been affected (It shouldn't
have been). It is highly unlikely that anything nasty will happen (It's a
single file game that doesn't read or write after loading), but always
make backups no matter what program you're using.
